Waano helps young people to develop important personal and interpersonal skills. These include the ability to think critically, solve problems, and the assumption of personal and group responsibility to gain self-confidence and self-esteem.

Based on our research, minorities and new immigrant youth in the Twin Cities are the most vulnerable when it comes to economic recession. We hold annual minority business plan competitions for seed money to start businesses. In our program, we focus on the following topics:
